Save the Children UK has published a call for candidates for the first 30 European Humanitarian Volunteers. See the call here: http://ec.europa.eu/echo/policies/evhac_en.htm Deadline for applications is July 3, 2011. Background: European Commission's Directorate General for Humanitarian Aid and Civil Protection (ECHO) chose in an open call for proposals earlier this year three consortia led by NGO partner organisations (Save the Children UK, the French Red Cross and VSO International UK). The chosen partner organisations have developed their own processes on how to send the first European Humanitarian Volunteers. Please do refer to the website above to find information on when and how you can get involved. At this stage of the process, Save the Children UK has launched an open call for candidatures with a deadline of July 3, 2011. The Red Cross will commence its process in September 2011, VSO International early 2012. To see more about the pilot projects you can also watch the video of last week's DG ECHO conference in Budapest presenting the coordinating organisations as well as the current state of play concerning the Corps: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_dWjCDqtaF0 -- Sent from the CEV Online Community at http://community.cev.be.
