The workshop aims to investigate how the concept of volunteerism in faith-based organisations and congregational groups changed overtime and what motivates people today to become a volunteer. In relation to this workshop UCSIA ia currently calling for paper proposals related to 4 areas: 1. Cultural and institutional roots of volunteering 2. Religion and motivation/driving mechanisms of becoming a volunteer 3. Voluntary work and labour market developments/developments in personal social services 4. Role of volunteering on social cohesion and civil engagement The deadline for submitting applications is 15th of August 2011. Candidates should send in the completed submission form, accompanied by an academic curriculum vitae and an outline of the proposed paper.
